Encore by Rhubarb
11 years ago, in the month of June 2014, I completed the Interior Design and fitting out works for Rhubarb Le restaurant, for Paul, Jerome and Alice. 11 years on and I had the privileged to work with Paul once again, on the Interiors of his new concept dining, a new era, a refreshed look.
Rhubarb Le restaurant, a contemporary French restaurant has been awarded 1 Michelin star since 2016 till present. 2016 was the the first year the Michelin Star awards officially started in Singapore.
Now as a new chapter unfolds at 3 Duxton Hill, working with Chef Paul once again, to transform the dining space into a more casual space but yet maintaining a sophistication to the restaurant. The direction for the transformation was based on introducing new colour palette, but still maintaining a link to the original Rhubarb hue, but adding another hue or 2 that would bring about a new sense of refreshment.
A more subdued tone of the original rhubarb hue was adopted, matched with a light shade of a willow hue. These 2 tones brought about a more soothing ambience, enhanced with black tinted mirrors placed specifically at intervals to reflect light but yet add depth and sophistication to the space.A third colour was introduced to elevate a sense of excitement that would contrast against the subdued hues of the wall features, a teal toned PVC leather was used for the upholstery of the banquet seatings, bringing a sense of refreshment to the ambience, reflecting a change, a new era, a new culinary experience at the new restaurant Encore!
